About the position

The Licensed Behavioral Health Clinician/Therapist position at Coastal Counseling Center, part of the Optum family, involves providing comprehensive mental health care to a diverse patient population. The role focuses on forming strong provider-patient alliances, assessing and treating various mental health conditions, and maintaining accurate clinical documentation. This position is integral to the Optum Behavioral Care Team's mission to revolutionize healthcare delivery and improve patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Form excellent provider-patient alliances and coordinate care with external providers
  • Screen and assess patients for common mental health disorders
  • Provide treatment for a variety of mental health conditions using treatment approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and other evidence-based methods
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records (Athena) and clinical documentation, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements

Requirements

  • Master's degree in psychology, social work, or a related counseling field
  • Clear, active and unrestricted license (LCSW, LMFT, or LPC) in the state of Virginia

Nice-to-haves

  • 2+ years professional social work / clinical experience post Master's degree
  • Experience providing direct psychotherapy services to individuals and families
  • Experience working with computers for professional communication and medical documentation - Excel, Outlook, Athena RMS (or other EHRs)
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with equal effectiveness
