About the position

As a Licensed Behavioral Health Clinician at Refresh Center, part of the Optum family of businesses, you will play a crucial role in transforming healthcare by providing comprehensive mental health services. This position is designed for a dedicated professional who is passionate about improving the lives of individuals facing mental health challenges. You will be responsible for treating a diverse patient population, addressing a wide range of mental health conditions through various therapeutic approaches. Your work will involve individual and group therapy, medication management, and participation in intensive outpatient programs, all aimed at fostering better health outcomes for patients. In this role, you will maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records using Athena, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. Building strong provider-patient alliances is essential, as you will coordinate care with external providers to ensure a holistic approach to treatment. You will conduct outpatient psychiatric evaluations, provide ongoing medication management, and screen patients for common mental health and substance abuse disorders. Your expertise in cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and other evidence-based methods will be vital in delivering effective treatment. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to enrich the training experience of graduate students, sharing your knowledge and skills with the next generation of clinicians. You may also represent the practice in community presentations and lectures, further extending your impact on mental health awareness and education. Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records (Athena) and clinical documentation, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements
  • Form excellent provider-patient alliances and coordinate care with external providers
  • Conduct outpatient psychiatric evaluations and provide ongoing medication management
  • Participate in enriching the training experience of our graduate students
  • Screen and assess patients for common mental health and substance abuse disorders
  • Provide treatment for a variety of mental health conditions using treatment approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and other evidence-based methods
  • Systematically track treatment response and monitor patients for changes in clinical symptoms and treatment side effects or complications
  • Provide CBT-oriented counseling and psychotherapy as part of appointments, if desired
  • May represent the practice in community presentations and lectures, if desired

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related counseling field
  • Clear, active and unrestricted license (LICSW, LMFT, LMHC, or LPC) in the state of practice

Nice-to-haves

  • 2+ years professional social work/clinical experience post Master's degree
  • Experience providing direct psychotherapy services to individuals and families
  • Experience working with computers for professional communication and medical documentation - Excel, Outlook, Athena RMS (or other EMRs)
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with equal effectiveness
