About the position
The Licensed Clinical Psychologist position at Gunn Psychological Services, part of the Optum family, involves providing high-quality mental health care in a hybrid outpatient setting. The role focuses on treating a diverse patient population, conducting therapy sessions, and coordinating care with other providers. The psychologist will play a crucial role in improving healthcare delivery and patient outcomes through a holistic approach that addresses physical, mental, and social needs.
Responsibilities
- Conduct individual, family or group therapy sessions based on ethical and medical necessity guidelines
- Develop and coordinate a clinical treatment program for the diagnosis, treatment, or referral of patients presenting mental health conditions
- Conduct psychological assessments and interpret results
- Involve patient and/or family in treatment planning as appropriate
- Lead crisis intervention methods and provide insight into the development of functional assessments and behavioral intervention plans
- Complete clinical documentation according to policy
Requirements
- Active and unrestricted (PhD, PsyD) license in the state of practice
- 2+ years of experience providing direct psychotherapy services to individuals, families and groups
- Ability to commute to the location in-person
Nice-to-haves
- Comfortable working with a wide range of clinical presentations
- Experience working with computers for professional communication and medical documentation - Excel, Outlook, Athena RMS (or other EMRs)
- Significant experience evaluating adults and/or children in an outpatient clinical setting
- Comfortable completing diagnostic assessments, general psychiatric testing, and providing direct therapy in an outpatient clinical setting
- Knowledge and experience in providing neuropsychological, CBT, and other evidence-based interventions
- Experience with health psychology
- Ability to represent the practice in community presentations and lectures, if desired
