About the position

The Licensed Outpatient Therapist position at Optum involves providing therapeutic services to clients in a flexible work environment, either onsite or in a hybrid model. The role focuses on delivering high-quality mental health care, conducting assessments, and developing treatment plans while ensuring client safety and engagement. The therapist will be part of a team dedicated to improving healthcare delivery and outcomes for vulnerable populations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform intakes and diagnostic evaluations, prepare and monitor treatment planning while engaging in appropriate client therapy practices.
  • Form effective therapeutic alliances to support each client's unique needs and goals, positively impacting client outcomes and retention.
  • Demonstrate advanced clinical knowledge related to individual goals, treatment plans, and diagnoses.
  • Engage in crisis interventions, stabilization, and de-escalation for clients experiencing mental health symptoms, prioritizing client safety.
  • Document all client interactions timely and accurately as per legal and ethical standards.
  • Provide one-to-one supportive counseling, observe client behavior, and perform behavioral management interventions as needed.
  • Create a positive atmosphere with other staff and clients.
  • Participate in group consultations, team meetings, and other required meetings, demonstrating professionalism.
  • Incorporate feedback from management and leadership to improve client care standards.
  • Maintain a full client caseload and additional responsibilities, achieving an average quota of 28 points weekly.

Requirements

  • Masters or Doctoral Degree in Behavioral Science or a related field (Psychology, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, Education, etc.).
  • Active, independent clinical license as a Mental Health Professional in Minnesota (LP, LPC, LPCC, LICSW, LMFT).
  • EMDR Certification.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Ability to adhere to onsite or hybrid work models.

  • Experience in treatment planning and maintaining a caseload.
  • Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) Systems.
