Responsibilities

  • Assist in the implementation of treatment plans developed by the physical therapist to address patients' specific rehabilitation goals and functional needs.
  • Lead patients through prescribed exercises and therapeutic activities designed to enhance their physical function and promote recovery.
  • Instruct patients on proper exercise techniques, monitor their progress, and provide feedback to ensure safe and effective participation.
  • Ensure the proper application of various treatment modalities, monitor patient responses, and adjust treatment parameters as necessary to optimize therapeutic outcomes.
  • Educate patients and their families on injury prevention strategies, proper body mechanics, and techniques for managing pain and discomfort.
  • Monitor patients' responses to treatment interventions, documenting their progress and any changes in functional status or treatment tolerance.
  • Communicate regularly with the supervising physical therapist, providing updates on patient progress and collaborating on adjustments to the treatment plan as needed.

Requirements

  • Degree in an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program
  • Current license/certification in the state of practice
