About the position

The Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) at Garden Terrace Alzheimer's Center of Excellence provides direct rehabilitation care in physical therapy to patients under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. This role is essential in ensuring that patients receive appropriate therapy as per physician referrals, adhering to all applicable laws and standards. The PTA is responsible for implementing treatment plans, maintaining professional relationships, and ensuring patient safety and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Follow physical therapy treatment plans for patients under the direction of the supervising PT.
  • Chart appropriately and timely.
  • Utilize therapy software appropriately and accurately.
  • Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients.
  • Assist in the evacuation of patients.
  • Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance.
  • Concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment.
  • Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited program in physical therapy (ASPT).
  • Currently registered/licensed in applicable State with an active license in good standing throughout employment.
  • One (1) year experience in post acute care or related setting preferred.
  • CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation, must remain current during employment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a post acute care setting.
  • Knowledge of practices and procedures in post acute care facilities.
