About the position
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position at Liberty Healthcare and Rehabilitation Services offers a rewarding opportunity to provide nursing care in a supportive environment. The role involves assisting in the direction of nursing services, monitoring patient conditions, and ensuring quality care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the direction of nursing services for the unit/hall in accordance with the Nursing Practice Act.
- Delegate duties to professional nurses and non-professional nursing personnel.
- Monitor work performance of nursing staff under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Observe patients for symptoms and reactions indicative of adverse changes in their condition.
- Notify attending physician of emergencies and patient deaths in the unit.
- Implement changes in orders as instructed by physicians.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school graduate.
- Licensed Practical Nurse, graduated from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current, valid license from the North Carolina Board of Nursing with proof of license renewal every other year.
- Willingness to work as charge nurse and during emergencies to ensure adequate coverage.
- Ability to provide quality nursing care to patients and follow doctors' orders.
- Genuine interest in geriatric nursing.
- CPR certified yearly.
- Attendance at in-service training and other staff meetings as required.
