About the position

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Penn State Health - Hershey Medical Center is responsible for providing direct and individualized nursing care to patients under the supervision of a registered nurse or provider. The role involves observing, reporting, and recording medical information, as well as instructing patients and families according to established teaching plans. The LPN will also communicate with the healthcare team to ensure coordinated patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to an assigned group of patients.
• Observe, report, and record medical information and nursing care in the electronic medical record.
• Instruct patients and families according to teaching plans.

Requirements

• Currently licensed to practice as a licensed practical nurse by the state of employment or holds a multistate LPN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required prior to completion of orientation.
