About the position

The Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) position at STG International is a part-time role focused on providing clinical and administrative nursing care at a Community Based Outpatient Clinic. The nurse will work primarily on weekends, collaborating with the PACT team to ensure quality patient care and support clinic operations under the direction of the Clinic Manager and other healthcare providers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a wide variety of clinical and administrative nursing care under the direction of the CBOC Clinic Manager, PACT Provider, and STGi Program Manager.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of pharmacology and medication administration techniques as per facility protocols and state regulations.
  • Check-in/check-out patients in collaboration with the PACT team.
  • Observe patients and report adverse reactions to medications and treatments.
  • Perform CPR and assist during respiratory and cardiac arrest procedures.
  • Conduct nursing procedures such as dressing changes, suture removal, oxygen administration, and venipunctures.
  • Prepare patients for laboratory procedures and examinations, providing necessary information and instructions.
  • Set up and operate therapeutic and emergency equipment, including monitors and defibrillators.
  • Maintain universal precautions and infection control practices.
  • Document all pertinent patient information in medical records and VISTA to ensure quality care delivery.
  • Assist in scheduling patients for appointments according to VA access standards.
  • Provide health education materials and resources to patients and their families.
  • Participate in ongoing Performance Improvement Programs and ensure compliance with safety and operational regulations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of current clinical experience in a similar environment, preferably outpatient clinical or hospital experience.
  • LPN from an accredited nursing school with a current and unrestricted nursing license in the state of practice.
  • Knowledge of basic and complex methods for coordinating and scheduling clinical care.
  • Ability to assess patient conditions and react swiftly in emergencies.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, along with proper telephone etiquette.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Software and Electronic Medical Records.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Medical-Surgical, Intensive Care Unit, or Emergency Room settings.
  • Knowledge of specialized terminology associated with Primary Care Practice.
  • Exceptional diplomatic communication skills and experience in handling difficult customer situations.
