About the position

The LPN position at Northeast Georgia Health System involves utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients in the Center. The role requires compliance with standards of practice, coordination of the stress lab schedule, and ensuring promptness and accuracy during noninvasive procedures. The LPN will work collaboratively with healthcare team members to meet patient and family needs while maintaining high standards of care.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain scheduled procedures in a timely manner.
  • Greet patients, complete assessments, and associated paperwork for procedures ordered.
  • Explain procedures and assess patients for accuracy of tests ordered through ECIS, notifying physicians of any necessary changes or corrections.
  • Prepare patients for ordered procedures and assist with Echo & Vascular studies as necessary.
  • Assist physicians and patients with any follow-up required post-testing.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare team members in response to patient and family needs.
  • Notify the physician assigned to the Stress lab of any abnormalities.
  • Complete all paperwork associated with tests performed, including copying and faxing reports and placing completed charts in the appropriate location.
  • Follow through with physician orders, including patient education and maintaining education booklets.
  • Assist with ordering and stocking supplies and medications, maintaining supply logs, and monitoring par levels.
  • Maintain crash cart, including checking the defibrillator and documenting on the daily log.
  • Keep a log of medication expiration and replacements, and maintain O2 cylinders and supplies.
  • Maintain current skills checklist and assist with performing skills checklists on other employees.
  • Identify and implement infection control and safety practices, complying with OSHA regulations.
  • Complete a minimum of six hours of continuing education within the review year and conduct at least one clinically related in-service for center staff during the review year.
  • Cross-train to perform basic radiological, laboratory, and other functions as necessary.

Requirements

  • Currently licensed as an LPN in the State of Georgia.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a relevant nursing role.
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Nice-to-haves

  • Current ACLS certification (preferred).
  • Experience in a similar healthcare setting (preferred).
