The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position at Frye Regional Medical Center involves providing direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse.
• Assist in the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN.
• Perform plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care.
• Administer medications as directed.
• Document patient care provided and monitor patient status.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Communicate patient status and reactions to interventions with the RN, physician, patients, and families.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current LPN license in the state of North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Critical thinking skills and decisive judgment are necessary.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a stressful environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in an inpatient rehabilitation setting is preferred.
• Additional certifications in nursing specialties.
