About the position

The System Float LPN at Northeast Georgia Health System provides nursing care under the direction of a Registered Nurse, focusing on patient populations across various campuses. This role involves organizing patient care, assisting with clinical support, and ensuring adherence to the Georgia Board of Nursing Nurse Practice Act. The LPN will be responsible for patient assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and quality of care, while also participating in educational activities to enhance clinical knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with data collection and provide feedback to the Registered Nurse regarding patient assessments.
  • Participate in the development of nursing diagnoses and carry out established plans of care.
  • Implement therapeutic interventions and document patient responses according to hospital standards.
  • Educate patients and their significant others about care needs identified during hospitalization.
  • Evaluate patient responses to nursing care and therapies, providing feedback to the Registered Nurse.
  • Support quality improvement activities and participate in achieving unit-specific nurse-sensitive indicators.
  • Maintain records of competencies and continuing education to ensure compliance with licensure requirements.

Requirements

  • Current State LPN License.
  • High School Diploma or GED and LPN diploma.
  • New graduate LPNs or those with less than one year of experience will be referred to the LPN residency program.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred (minimum of 2 years).
