About the position

The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) at BioLife Plasma Services plays a crucial role in supporting plasma center operations by ensuring donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, and reviewing laboratory test results. This position requires a commitment to customer service and quality, working under the guidance of the Plasma Center Manager and the Center Physician.

Responsibilities

  • Determine donor eligibility including informed consent and medical history interview.
  • Manage donor adverse events and evaluate donor reactions as per SOPs.
  • Review laboratory test results and notify donors of unsuitable test results.
  • Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
  • Manage employee incidents and determine further evaluation needs by occupational health/ER.
  • Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, including a recognized educational nursing program.
  • Currently licensed or certified in the state as LPN or LVN.
  • Current CPR and AED certification.
  • Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
  • Complete FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
  • Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
