About the position

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at FutureCare plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality healthcare to residents. This position involves providing compassionate care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), ensuring adherence to state and federal guidelines, and contributing to the overall well-being of residents. Responsibilities

  • Assist in care planning and treatments for residents under the direct supervision of the RN.
  • Demonstrate basic knowledge and skills required to care for the resident population on an assigned unit.
  • Review resident medical records to ensure nursing practice provided is within State and Federal guidelines.
  • Document care provided and report changes in resident status to shift supervisor.
  • Review all referrals for consultation, treatment or resolution of problems to ensure they are valid and applicable to the documented nurse plans.
  • Seek opportunities for professional growth and expansion of responsibilities to maintain competency levels.
  • Set and implement goals and policies consistent with the philosophy and purpose of FutureCare's nursing facility.

Requirements

  • Must hold an active LPN license issued in the state of Maryland.
  • 1 year of nursing experience preferred.
  • Previous experience caring for residents in an acute or long-term health care facility is a plus.
  • Team player with strong work ethic and a willingness to assist where needed.
  • Must possess a current CPR license.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective interpersonal communication with all personnel, residents, and families.
