About the position

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Crystal Clinic Quickcare is responsible for supporting physicians and advanced practice providers in a clinical setting. This role involves patient interaction, documentation, and assisting with various medical procedures, ensuring a smooth operation of the clinic while maintaining high standards of patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Room patients and document medical histories in EMR.
  • Prepare and administer injections as directed by physicians.
  • Assist with procedures, including the application and removal of casts and fitting of Durable Medical Equipment (DME).
  • Greet patients and complete the check-in process.
  • Answer telephone calls and schedule appointments.
  • Obtain and process referrals for patients.
  • Prepare charts for new patients and pull charts for established visits.
  • Ensure patient forms are complete and current in the system.
  • Locate and manage medical charts, including filing and purging.
  • Check charts for progress notes and prepare charge tickets.
  • Process medical records requests and track 'no-show' patients.
  • Monitor the patient waiting area and maintain cleanliness.
  • Collect co-pays and balance the cash drawer.
  • Gather information for outside testing and obtain authorizations from insurance companies.
  • Provide backup coverage and assist in daily office routines as needed.
  • Monitor and maintain front office equipment and order supplies.
  • Clean, sterilize, and stock examination rooms and equipment.
  • Assist physicians with special procedures and prepare necessary equipment.
  • Prepare X-ray orders and transport patients to Radiology as needed.
  • Prepare laboratory requisitions and arrange specimen transport.
  • Remove sutures, staples, and dressings; apply and remove casts and splints.
  • Educate patients on DME and physician's plan of care.
  • Ensure timely transport of X-ray films for follow-up visits.
  • Attend in-services and departmental meetings.

Requirements

  • Three (3) to Five (5) years of experience in the field or profession preferred.
  • Prior front desk experience in a medical office preferred.
  • Current and valid license to practice Practical Nursing in the State of Ohio.
  • Authorized to administer medications by The State of Ohio Board of Nursing.
  • BLS certification within three (3) months of hire.
