About the position

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at RWJBarnabas Health's Women's Center is responsible for providing nursing care to high-risk and women's health ob/gyn patients under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician. This role involves direct patient care, documentation, and coordination of care, ensuring adherence to nursing standards and practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician.
• Manage and provide safe nursing care in a high-volume practice.
• Complete assigned tasks such as supply orders and medication logs in a timely manner.
• Coordinate ordering supplies to promote efficient operations.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills with patients, visitors, and staff.
• Document intervention plans and evaluations clearly and concisely.
• Update medical records as required, including intake forms and medication lists.
• Perform technical aspects of patient care, such as taking vital signs and administering injections.
• Administer medication safely and document accordingly.
• Coordinate patient follow-up appointments and tests as per provider instructions.
• Participate in Quality Improvement processes and submit monthly audits.

Requirements

• Graduated from an accredited program of Practical Nursing.
• Current New Jersey LPN license.
• BLS Certification through American Heart Association.
• Successful completion of all Orientation Programs.

Nice-to-haves

• Minimum 2 years experience in related health care field or Public Health.
