About the position

The LPN position at Banner - University Medical Center Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine Clinic involves providing nursing care under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians. The role focuses on assisting with wound care, managing complex wounds, and ensuring quality patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment. This position is integral to the multi-disciplinary team dedicated to treating patients with chronic and non-healing wounds, utilizing specialized nursing skills and knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Assist the RN in the clinic with wound care and negative pressure wound dressing.
• Perform vital signs and documentation of patient care.
• Manage large and complex wounds, including exposure to graphic post-operative wounds.
• Participate in the planning and implementation of patient care under the direction of the RN.
• Report patient conditions and progress to the RN and/or physician.
• Document observations and interventions in the patient record accurately and timely.
• Coordinate the admission process and communicate with patients and families regarding care.
• Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure continuity of care.

Requirements

• Current, valid LPN or LVN license in the state of practice.
• BLS certification is required.
• Minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting within the past 12 months as an LPN or LVN in the specialty area.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in designated clinical area is preferred.
• Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
