We are looking to add an overnight nurse for 3pm-11pm shifts and 11pm-7am, available for both Part-Time and Full-Time positions.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise HHAs, CNAs and the facility staff.
  • Make daily rounds of all Assisted Living residents and retirement residents if needed.
  • Observe and report symptoms and conditions of patients to Director of Wellness (DOW) / Delegating R.N. / Physician.
  • Administer medications and treatments per signed doctor's orders in an accurate, safe manner, observe effectiveness and report to physician if needed.
  • Inform DOW of when supplies and equipment are needed.
  • Order medication from pharmacy when needed.
  • Supervise the Home Health Aide to ensure that all nursing care is given properly, safely and of the utmost quality.
  • Administer emergency first aid.
  • Assure that daily assignments for patient care, incidental duties, performed by nurse and HHA as outlined by Director of Wellness are carried out.
  • Make daily rounds of all patients and area. Recognize, interpret and report conditions to the DOW/RN/ED as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and neatness of nurse's station, med room and cart.
  • Assist in the orientation of new staff.
  • Complete admission and discharge evaluations as necessary.
  • Check equipment for cleanliness and condition.
  • Provide guidance for nursing assistants.
  • Promote and maintain good interpersonal relationships with residents, visitors and personnel.
  • Perform related work as required per assignment.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program, currently licensed to practice per state.
  • Work experience in the geriatric field.
  • Ability to communicate well and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with visitors, staff and residents in a courteous manner.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull up to 60lbs.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work under pressure at times.
  • Must be able to perform good grooming practices, personal hygiene and be punctual and regular in attendance.
  • Must have warm, friendly, congenial personality and present a professional appearance.
  • Possess an empathetic attitude towards seniors.
  • Ability to assess a resident's condition and intervene when needed.
  • CPR certified, or obtained within 90 days of hire and yearly thereafter.

Nice-to-haves

  • May have their picture taken and image used in social media or community advertising.
  • May be video recorded from devices installed by families in residents' apartments.
