About the position
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position at Liberty Health involves providing nursing services under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role includes delegating duties, monitoring patient conditions, and assisting in emergency situations, all while ensuring compliance with the Nursing Practice Act.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the direction of nursing services for the unit/hall under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Delegate duties to professional and non-professional nursing personnel and monitor their performance.
- Observe patients for symptoms and reactions indicative of adverse changes in their condition.
- Notify attending physician of emergencies and patient deaths in the unit.
- Implement changes in orders as instructed by physicians.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school graduate.
- Licensed Practical Nurse, graduated from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current, valid license from the North Carolina Board of Nursing, with proof of license renewal every other year.
- Willingness to work as charge nurse and during emergencies to ensure adequate coverage.
- Ability to provide quality nursing care to patients and follow doctors' orders, with a genuine interest in geriatric nursing.
- CPR certified yearly.
- Attend in-service training and other staff meetings as required.
