About the position

The LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) plays a crucial role in the Urology Clinic by utilizing their skills and knowledge to assist physicians and nurse practitioners in various clinical functions related to the medical office. This position is essential in ensuring that the highest degree of quality patient care is maintained at all times. The LPN will be responsible for administering care to patients of all age ranges who may present with various illnesses, diseases, or physical limitations. The role requires a strong commitment to patient care and the ability to adapt to the dynamic environment of a medical office. In this position, the LPN will be expected to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to various working conditions and job demands. They must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients, visitors, and staff. Attention to detail and resourcefulness are critical, as the LPN will need to manage multiple tasks in a stressful environment while maintaining a professional demeanor. The ability to function independently as well as part of a team is essential, and candidates must be dependable and promote a professional image at all times. The LPN will also be responsible for maintaining confidentiality and demonstrating knowledge of the cognitive, physical, emotional, and chronological states of human growth and development. They must be competent in providing assessment, care, and treatment appropriate to the age group of the patients served. This role is non-exempt under the FLSA classification, indicating that it is eligible for overtime pay.

Responsibilities

  • Assist physicians and nurse practitioners in clinical functions related to the medical office.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate (or equivalent).
  • Graduate of a state accredited school of nursing.
  • LPN Nursing License in the state of employment required.
  • BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart Association approved required.
  • Experience in a medical office setting preferred.
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and function independently as well as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of basic office equipment and medical supplies.
