About the position

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at New Community Corporation is responsible for providing direct nursing care to residents and supervising nursing assistants. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while maintaining high-quality care standards. The LPN will also prepare and administer medications, monitor residents' health, and maintain safety and sanitation in the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to residents.
  • Supervise day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants.
  • Prepare and administer medication as ordered by the physician.
  • Monitor seriously ill residents as necessary.
  • Ensure safety and sanitation in residents' rooms and work areas.
  • Consult with residents' physicians regarding care and treatments.
  • Complete all required charting and documentation according to policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of rehabilitation and nursing practices.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in geriatrics.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or related field.
  • Current license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in New Jersey.
  • CPR certification.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
