About The Position

This grant funded position is open to any Texas University students in the second year of the LPC Master's program as well as recent graduates of any Texas University pursuing the Associate license. A qualified candidate will be able to provide high quality professional counseling services for assigned clients. Utilize counseling and diagnostic skills to conduct intake evaluations, formulate a diagnostic summary, facilitate formulation of a person-centered recovery plan and identify additional needs/barriers to be addressed. Facilitate formulation of safety, crisis and transition plans. Provide individual, parent and family counseling consistent with recovery plan and utilization management guidelines. Function as a member of multidisciplinary team and may provide consultation to case managers, care coordinators, skills trainers and peers. May perform crisis assessments, immediate crisis interventions, and make recommendations and/or referrals for crisis resolution. Documents all services and activities per established agency guidelines. Serve as a resource regarding mental health and substance use for other personnel, both internally and from other agencies. May facilitate training opportunities regarding mental health and co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders and best-practice programs.

Requirements

  • Second year of the LPC Master's program.
  • Recent graduates of any Texas University pursuing the Associate license.
  • Current State of Texas Driver License or equivalent if residing in another state.
  • Liability insurance required if operating personal vehicle for Center business.
  • Must complete all training requirements in the month they are due.
  • Must submit to and pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Must successfully pass all background screens as required by the state.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with an electronic health record.
  • Basic familiarity with community mental health and other community resources.

Benefits

  • Salary of $51,614 annually.
