About the position

The Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor (Program Manager) at the Cheyenne VA Health Care System is responsible for providing professional and administrative leadership within the Mental Health Service Line. This role involves managing a tiered program, ensuring quality service delivery, and overseeing clinical processes critical to the program's success. The Program Manager will also be involved in case assessment, treatment planning, and providing psychotherapy services to veterans with various mental health and substance use disorders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop written statements of the program's mission and desired outcomes.
  • Direct and maintain clinical processes to support the delivery of clinical services.
  • Conduct quality management and improvement needs assessments.
  • Develop and implement information systems to track service activities.
  • Establish clinical guidelines, policies, and protocols for service utilization.
  • Provide administrative, technical, and clinical supervision to staff.
  • Monitor program outcomes using data-driven quality assurance processes.
  • Perform case assessments and psychiatric diagnoses, and coordinate care and discharge planning.
  • Provide individual, couples, and group psychotherapy services to veterans.
  • Conduct crisis intervention and triage for at-risk veterans.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Master's or doctoral degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling or related field from an accredited program.
  • Full, current, and unrestricted license to practice as a Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor.
  • At least one year of progressively complex experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level.
  • Ability to make judgments and decisions associated with program management.
  • Ability to monitor program outcomes and develop productivity standards.
