About the position

The Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor (Program Manager) is responsible for providing program management and leadership to the Behavioral Health Intervention Program (BHIP) teams across multiple locations. This role involves overseeing professional practice staff, ensuring high-quality care for veterans, and collaborating with mental health leadership to implement effective treatment models. The position requires a strong commitment to veterans' mental health and involves both administrative and clinical responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain day-to-day oversight of professional practice staff.
  • Collaborate with Mental Health leadership and BHIP leads to ensure quality care.
  • Assist in planning and implementing the BHIP model.
  • Represent the facility in national and VISN-level calls related to BHIP.
  • Monitor and assign evidence-based psychotherapy and group psychotherapy.
  • Provide diagnostic, assessment, and treatment services to veterans.
  • Engage in team-based care and provide consultation services to BHIP providers.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Master's or doctoral degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling or a related field from a CACREP-accredited program.
  • Full, current, and unrestricted license to practice as a Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • At least one year of progressively complex experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level.
