About the position
The Licensed Vocational Nurse II (Bilingual) position at Kaiser Permanente involves providing nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician. The role focuses on delivering quality patient care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures, while also ensuring compliance with legal practices. The nurse will be responsible for various patient care functions, assisting medical personnel, and maintaining a respectful and dignified environment for patients and coworkers.
Responsibilities
- Uphold Kaiser Permanente's Policies and Procedures, Principles of Responsibilities, and applicable laws.
- Perform patient care functions considering age-related needs as prescribed by healthcare professionals.
- Assist medical personnel with special procedures and minor surgical procedures.
- Assess and monitor patients' conditions and notify healthcare professionals for further action.
- Prepare and administer medications as directed by physician orders.
- Maintain equipment and supplies, and arrange for repairs as needed.
- Apply principles of aseptic technique and infection control as directed.
- Monitor patient flow and assign/direct ancillary personnel as needed.
- Provide medical information and education to patients following established protocols.
- Document pertinent patient information and nursing procedures.
Requirements
- Minimum one (1) year of recent experience as a LVN in an acute/outpatient setting.
- Vocational Nurse License (California).
- Basic Life Support certification.
- Bilingual (Spanish) Level II required.
