About the position

Hydration Room is seeking a motivated Part-time Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our Pasadena clinic. This position offers a unique opportunity for nursing professionals who are looking to escape the hectic, high-stress environments typically associated with nursing roles. The ideal candidate will be proficient in starting IVs and possess a positive, outgoing demeanor that helps patients feel at ease. The role requires working 5 shifts a week, ideally from Wednesday to Friday, 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM, and weekends from 9 AM to 5 PM. As a Licensed Vocational Nurse, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, or Doctor. Your duties will include following the plan of care, providing treatments, and collaborating with team members to achieve positive patient outcomes in a fast-paced environment. You will assist the Nurse with various duties while enhancing the customer experience at Hydration Room. This non-exempt position reports to the District Lead Nurse, District Clinic Manager, and the Regional Clinic Director. In addition to patient care, you will manage the clinic's patient booking schedule, ensuring customer satisfaction and a consistent flow throughout the day. You will also be responsible for maintaining clinic and nursing supplies inventory, assisting patients over the phone, and conducting training for new staff members. Delivering exceptional customer service is paramount, as you will be the face of Hydration Room, helping to create a welcoming and positive environment for all patients.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Nurse or Nurse Practitioner with IVs and injection vitamin therapies as needed.
  • Providing direct patient care as defined in the state Nurse Practice Act.
  • Implementing a plan of care initiated by the registered nurse or Nurse Practitioner.
  • Performing basic administrative, clerical, and technical supportive services to coordinate patient care.
  • Managing the clinic patient booking schedule to ensure customer satisfaction and consistent flow throughout the day.
  • Working with RN to maintain clinic and nursing supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
  • Helping patients over the phone, returning important voicemails, and facilitating the booking, scheduling, rescheduling and cancellation process.
  • Onboarding new patients.
  • Understanding great customer service, general sales, and patient care.
  • Recommending membership programs and packages to patients.
  • Keeping the clinic in compliance with Hydration Room inspections before and after each shift.
  • Maintaining a safe, secure, and clean environment for customers by following protocols for cleanliness in the clinic.
  • Assisting customers with a point-of-sale system at the beginning and end of services, which includes overseeing cash shift procedures.
  • Retrieving phone messages, returning phone calls, and chart documentation in a timely manner as needed and conducting patient callbacks when needed.
  • Stocking IV cart and the hard stock in the nurse room.
  • Notifying nurse of any shortages in supplies.
  • Performing other duties as may be assigned by the clinic team, RN, or physician.
  • Delivering 5 Star Customer service to all patients to ensure they have a positive experience.
  • Conducting training of new staff members.

Requirements

  • Solid understanding of current medical practices and principles.
  • Ability to quickly comprehend and take direction from Registered Nurse.
  • Active listening and strong communication skills.
  • Self-confidence and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic math skills and excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Expert in customer interaction and retention.
  • Two years of nursing experience preferred with extensive experience in starting IVs.
  • LVN License in California (Required).
  • IV/Blood Draw Certification (Preferred).
  • BLS Certification (Required).
  • Previous customer service experience preferred.
