About the position
The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) at Cornerstone Healthcare Group is responsible for providing both direct and indirect nursing care to patients ranging from young adults to geriatrics with complex medical conditions. This role involves working under the supervision of a Charge/Registered Nurse to ensure high-quality patient care, adhering to established nursing standards, and promoting teamwork across departments.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect nursing care to patients with medically complex conditions.
- Report changes in patient condition to the Registered Nurse (RN).
- Demonstrate knowledge and skill in the nursing process when providing patient care.
- Promote teamwork with physicians and personnel from other departments.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of licensed vocational nursing or licensed practical nursing with a current state license in good standing.
- Maintain current BLS certification throughout employment.
- Two or more years of acute care or rehabilitation experience as an LVN/LPN is preferred.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions.
Nice-to-haves
- ACLS certification preferred within one year of employment or as available courses allow.
