The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) position at Merakey is focused on providing comprehensive medical care to individuals within the Intellectual Developmental Disability (IDD) programs. Responsibilities

• Provide overall medical care and support to assigned individuals in the IDD programs.
• Monitor and assess the health needs of individuals and implement appropriate care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
• Document and maintain accurate medical records for each individual.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
• Assist in managing challenging behaviors and mental health issues as needed.

Requirements

• Licensed Vocational Nurse certification is required.
• A minimum of one year nursing experience is preferred.
• Experience working with the IDD population in a community setting is preferred.
• Experience working with challenging behaviors and mental health issues is preferred.
• A current LVN License and a genuine interest in working with individuals with physical and developmental disabilities.
• A current and valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required depending on the work location.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a non-profit healthcare setting.
• Bilingual skills are a plus.
