About the position
The Licensed Practical Nurse (Bilingual) at BioLife Plasma Services plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and quality of plasma donation processes. This position involves determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, and reviewing laboratory test results. The LPN will work under the guidance of the Center Manager and the Center Physician, contributing to the operational and medical aspects of plasma collection while adhering to industry regulations and safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent and AIDS education.
- Conduct medical history interviews, physical examinations, and blood testing.
- Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies as per SOPs.
- Support vaccination programs for employees, including Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu.
- Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/ER as needed.
- Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS.
Requirements
- Bilingual proficiency in English and another language.
- Current CPR Certification and AED Certification.
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) certification.
- Experience in phlebotomy and medical office settings.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical or hospital experience.
- High school diploma or GED.
Nice-to-haves
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification.
- Knowledge of FDA regulations and infection control practices.
- Experience in patient care and leadership roles.
