About the position

As a Life Business Product Owner at Farm Bureau Financial Services, you will play a crucial role in understanding and representing the needs of the product's stakeholders. This position is pivotal in prioritizing, managing, and coordinating the delivery of product features across a wide range of initiatives, all aimed at successfully achieving the organization's strategies, goals, and objectives. You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and coordinating relationships with business sponsors, business leads, and subject matter experts. This will involve performing analysis and guiding the delivery team in executing strategic and tactical initiatives effectively. In this role, you will facilitate, plan, and coordinate the analysis of strategic and business initiatives. This may include key strategic projects, the annual business planning and budgeting processes, business cases and recommendations, and the development of management presentations. You will also be tasked with identifying process improvements where needed, working across departments to streamline processes and enhance efficiency. Your expertise in the insurance industry, combined with your strategic planning and business analysis skills, will be essential in navigating the complexities of the business environment. You will need to possess excellent planning, facilitation, decision-making, and communication skills, both oral and written, to succeed in this role. A thorough understanding of the insurance business will enable you to quickly grasp the business implications of issues that may impact the successful planning and delivery of strategic and business initiatives. Experience with Lean/Agile methodologies is preferred, as it will aid in the effective management of projects and initiatives.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • College degree or equivalent plus 7 years of relevant experience required.
  • Experience in the insurance industry, strategic planning, business planning, business analysis, or project management.
  • Excellent planning, facilitation, decision-making, and communication skills.
  • Thorough understanding of the insurance business to understand business implications of issues.
  • Experience working with Lean/Agile methodologies preferred.
