About the position

The Life Enrichment Assistant plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents by planning and implementing recreational and special events. This position involves collaboration with the Life Enrichment Coordinator to assess residents' needs and promote participation in various activities, ensuring a dignified and respectful environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in organizing a volunteer program to provide group activities and one-on-one services for residents.
• Communicate with the Life Enrichment Coordinator to identify the need for volunteers and training.
• Participate in staff meetings to discuss ideas and volunteer programming.
• Direct volunteers during activities and ensure appropriate resources are available.
• Set up rooms and prepare for activity events, notifying residents of event start times.
• Assist with special events such as parties, outings, and entertainment.
• Help prepare and post the activity calendar.
• Provide a dignified, respectful, resident-centered environment.
• Follow universal precautions and facility infection control guidelines.
• Uphold confidential information as required by policy and HIPAA regulations.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age or older.
• Prior experience in life enrichment is preferred.
• Ability to give instructions and direct volunteers in various activities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Maintains good attendance and punctuality.
