About the position

The Life Enrichment Coordinator is responsible for planning and implementing an activity program that addresses the physical, mental, and psychosocial needs and interests of residents in a community setting. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for residents by providing engaging activities that promote well-being and social interaction. The coordinator must comply with the community's personnel, safety, and corporate policies and procedures, ensuring a safe and respectful environment for all residents, family members, visitors, and team members. Confidentiality of resident and family information is paramount, and any allegations of resident abuse or neglect must be reported immediately to the appropriate authorities within the organization. In this position, the coordinator will be responsible for planning and implementing activities tailored to meet the specific needs of residents, which may include organizing large group events, small group activities, and individual participation. Documentation is a key aspect of this role, as the coordinator must maintain records as required by state and federal regulations. Additionally, the coordinator will contribute to the Minimum Data Set and participate in care planning and assessments to ensure that residents receive the best possible care. The Life Enrichment Coordinator will also play a vital role in community engagement by coordinating the recruitment, retention, and involvement of volunteers. This includes planning staff functions and activities aimed at boosting staff morale. Monitoring compliance with state and federal regulations, including safety protocols related to bloodborne pathogens and infection control, is also a critical responsibility. The coordinator will help facilitate restorative programs that enhance residents' lives, allowing them to achieve their highest practical level of physical and psychosocial well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement activities to meet residents' specific needs, including large groups, small groups, and individual participation.
  • Maintain documentation as required by State and Federal regulations.
  • Input on Minimum Data Set and participate in plan of care and other assessments and updates.
  • Deliver residents' mail, newsletters, and other community information.
  • Coordinate recruitment, retention, and involvement of volunteers with residents.
  • Plan staff functions and activities to increase staff morale.
  • Monitor compliance with all State and Federal regulations, including bloodborne pathogens, infection control, and fire safety.
  • Help coordinate restorative programs that enhance residents' lives.

Requirements

  • Must have basic computer skills.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must be able to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary.
  • Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
  • Must be able to perform the essential position functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
