About the position

The Life Insurance Underwriting QA Consultant role at TEKsystems is a fully remote position that serves as the first line of defense in reviewing and supporting enterprise operations related to life insurance policies. This position is crucial for ensuring the foundational quality review of new life insurance policies. The consultant will be responsible for examining the underwriting process comprehensively, which includes reperformance of quality audits, assessment and review of materials, and understanding the risk class and risk rating associated with life insurance underwriting. The consultant will also need to grasp how the insurance company evaluates these factors and the overall processes and vision for the policy. In this role, the consultant will handle up to 100 cases requested for engagement, with each audit taking approximately one hour if the consultant is familiar with the materials. The team expects a full report that provides strategic advice on how the underwriting and quality assurance processes are being executed. This position requires a deep understanding of life insurance underwriting, particularly in reviewing medical records as part of the underwriting process. The consultant will play a vital role in enhancing the quality and efficiency of the underwriting operations within the organization.

  • Perform quality audits on life insurance policies to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Assess and review underwriting materials and processes.
  • Reperform quality audits and provide feedback on the underwriting process.
  • Understand and evaluate risk classes and risk ratings in life insurance underwriting.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports with strategic advice on underwriting quality and processes.

Requirements

  • 10 years of experience in underwriting and quality assurance of life insurance policies, with a focus on review rather than just underwriting.
  • Authority level of $5 million or more in underwriting and training peer review.
  • Extensive knowledge of life insurance underwriting processes (not including annuities).
  • Ability to understand and review medical records in the context of life insurance underwriting.
