About the position

The Life New Business Representative is responsible for reviewing new business applications for accuracy, submitting them to underwriting, and issuing life insurance policies. This role involves communication with agents, processing requests, and supporting internal teams, all while ensuring a positive customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Review new business applications for accuracy and submit them to underwriting for review.
  • Send follow-up communications to agents as needed to clarify premiums, EFT forms, and delivery requirements.
  • Issue life insurance policies after approval by underwriting and after all issue requirements are received.
  • Answer incoming agent calls and emails to assist with questions on processing new business applications.
  • Complete EAS accounting reports to reflect the correct premium applied to new applications.
  • Ensure signatures are received on applications, forms, and delivery requirements.
  • Process policy not taken requests, reissue requests, and changes communicated through the New Business email inbox.
  • Support other internal teams by cross-training on related tasks.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1-year life insurance experience preferred.
  • Commitment to building industry knowledge by completing LOMA courses.
  • Working knowledge of life insurance products, policies, and provisions.
  • Ability to provide a positive influence in establishing, developing, and maintaining professional working relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Excellent attentive and active verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Effective utilization skills of computer systems for essential job functions, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
