About the position

The Life Safety Automation Tech I position at Pfizer involves managing maintenance and reliability engineering activities related to life safety systems. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, and compliance with company standards and government regulations. The technician will work closely with engineering teams to ensure the effective operation of life safety systems, contributing to the overall safety and efficiency of the facility.

Responsibilities

• Installing, maintaining, and programming major systems such as life safety alarms and emergency notification systems.
• Integrating electronic life safety into building control systems.
• Procurement, assembly, installation, and qualification of hardware, including signal wire routing and connection.
• Checking electrical input/output signals and related wiring for field instrumentation and devices.
• Performing system software installation, configuration, and qualification.
• Maintaining databases to support life safety, security, and communications systems.
• Documenting system information and recording maintenance activities.
• Installing, maintaining, and inspecting system and workstation installations throughout the facility.
• Obtaining State of Michigan Fire Alarm Specialty Technician License within 4 years of employment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED with some relevant experience.
• 4+ years of experience in a related field.
• Basic computer skills.
• Interest in electricity and electronics.
• Ability to learn new concepts and skills.
• Excellent communication skills and strong work ethic.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
