About The Position

The Life Safety Inspector is responsible for the testing and inspection of fire and life safety systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards and providing high-quality service to customers. This role involves generating detailed inspection reports, maintaining customer relationships, and assisting in the sale of services for identified deficiencies. The Inspector must stay updated on industry standards and code requirements while performing inspections in various environments.

Requirements

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Mechanical and math aptitude.
  • Exceptional computer skills.
  • Professional and organized demeanor.
  • Valid state driver's license.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 2 years of trade experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in the fire protection industry preferred.
  • Willingness and ability to obtain NICET Certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Any trade experience preferred.
  • NICET Certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Test and inspect fire and life safety systems including fire alarms, fire sprinklers, and fire extinguishers.
  • Provide accurate and detailed inspection reports with documentation of improvements and complications.
  • Ensure high customer satisfaction through quality service and communication.
  • Complete inspections in a timely manner and coordinate with the Inspection Coordinator.
  • Utilize an online scheduling calendar for task management and documentation.
  • Maintain positive customer relationships and review inspection results with customers.
  • Submit required paperwork promptly.
  • Maintain equipment, supplies, and company vehicle in good working order.
  • Study NFPA standards and stay current with code requirements and industry changes.
  • Obtain NICET certifications as required.
