About the position

Zymo Research is seeking a highly motivated Life Sciences Field Sales professional to lead the expansion of its B2B business. This role is ideal for a self-starter who excels in dynamic environments and possesses strong problem-solving skills. The successful candidate will develop and execute strategies to drive growth, build relationships with key partners, and ensure that Zymo Research's product offerings align with client needs. This position is critical in shaping the company's market presence and pursuing new business opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a strategic plan to expand Zymo Research's B2B business.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key industry partners and customers.
  • Work closely with customers to understand their challenges and develop tailored solutions.
  • Gain a deep understanding of Zymo Research's product portfolio to effectively communicate offerings.
  • Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with marketing, R&D, and other teams to align business development efforts with company objectives.
  • Lead negotiations and manage contracts to secure favorable terms for the company.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success of initiatives.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on business development activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in business development within the life sciences or biotechnology industry.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful business development strategies.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with a history of maintaining long-term professional relationships.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills to translate market insights into actionable strategies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred background in biology or related life sciences disciplines.
  • Experience with next generation sequencing (NGS) is a plus.
