About the position
The Life Sciences TechTeam Business Consultant will support MedTech entrepreneurs by mapping the MedTech support ecosystem and facilitating access to specialized resources. This role aims to foster collaborations between entrepreneurs and biomedical partners, addressing the unique challenges faced by MedTech innovators. The consultant will provide concierge-style services to navigate resources, identify funding sources, and enhance cross-border alliances with Ontario counterparts, ultimately driving collaboration and research opportunities in the region.
Responsibilities
- Enable access to specialized resources in Michigan and Ontario.
- Coordinate networking opportunities.
- Connect healthcare innovators with potential investors, purchasers, and entrepreneurial resources.
- Educate healthcare innovators on successful business models focusing on product commercialization, purchasing processes, and marketing.
- Develop approaches for improved engagement in cross-border collaboration.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree.
- 5 years of experience in an early-stage life science ecosystem.
- Understanding of stakeholders' needs.
- Ecosystem development knowledge.
- Very strong networking ability.
- Ability to address specific challenges faced by MedTech innovators.
Nice-to-haves
- Master's degree or PhD.
- Prior consulting experience with startup businesses.
- Ability to articulate understanding of Michigan and Ontario life sciences ecosystems.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Management experience in a technology-based company.
