About the position

The Life Sciences Specialist Leader at Deloitte is responsible for leading the development and implementation of advanced AI and machine learning models to analyze complex life sciences data. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to design and execute data-driven research projects, supporting drug discovery and personalized medicine initiatives. The position requires extensive experience in handling large datasets and a strong background in data science methodologies, with a focus on driving innovation in the health ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of advanced AI and machine learning models to analyze complex life sciences data, including signal and imaging data.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including biologists, clinicians, and engineers, to design and execute data-driven research projects.
• Develop and validate predictive models to support drug discovery, clinical trials, and personalized medicine initiatives.
• Analyze large-scale datasets from various sources, such as genomic, proteomic, and metabolomic data, to uncover novel biological insights.
• Utilize advanced statistical and computational techniques to preprocess, clean, and transform raw data into actionable insights.
• Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders through clear and concise reports, visualizations, and presentations.
• Stay current with the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and data science methodologies, and apply them to ongoing projects.
• Mentor and guide junior data scientists and researchers in best practices for data analysis and model development.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, or a related field with a focus on life sciences.
• 8+ years of extensive experience in developing and deploying AI and machine learning models, particularly in the context of life sciences.
• 6+ years proficiency in handling and analyzing signal data (e.g., EEG, ECG) and imaging data (e.g., MRI, CT scans).
• 8+ years experience programming skills in languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB, and experience with relevant data science libraries and frameworks.
• 8+ years demonstrated experience working with large, complex datasets and performing data integration from multiple sources.

• Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically about data and experimental design.
• Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort with both large and small audiences.
• Demonstrated experience driving both the sales cycle by taking the lead in framing out client opportunities and leading the pursuit team to create the proposal content for client discussions.
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment.
• Demonstrated experience with management and delivery of multiple strategic engagements for large global organizations.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
