About the position

Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! Responsibilities

• Maintain order at the swimming pool facility.
• Ensure continuous surveillance of patrons in swimming pools.
• Call out warnings or take appropriate action for patrons in imminent danger.
• Provide safety information to patrons prior to water sports or recreation.
• Supervise patrons to ensure compliance with safety protocols.
• Perform rescue work and render emergency first aid.
• Manage respiratory and cardiac emergencies, including CPR and AED use.
• Administer swim tests and schedule pool space for patrons.
• Instruct patrons on proper swimming pool etiquette and techniques.
• Conduct opening and closing procedures of the facility.
• Spot hazards and take measures to prevent accidents.
• Complete incident reports and maintain routine documents.
• Ensure cleanliness of the pool area and perform routine maintenance.
• Participate in continuous training for rescue and lifesaving techniques.
• Provide World Class Customer Service and assist customers professionally.

Requirements

• Must be at least 15 years old.
• Six months of experience as a pool lifeguard is preferred.
• Possess current nationally recognized certifications: Lifeguard training, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, and Standard First Aid.
• Ability to use and maintain pool equipment.
• Understanding of and ability to enforce safety regulations.
• Must be able to pass an initial and recurrent physical ability test.
• National and state background checks are required.
