About the position
The Lifeguard position at IMG Academy for Summer 2025 is responsible for ensuring the safety of students, guests, and visitors during pool activities at the academy's state-of-the-art campus in Bradenton, Florida. This role involves monitoring pool activities, enforcing safety regulations, and providing excellent customer service to all patrons. Lifeguards will react calmly and effectively in emergency situations and maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times.
Responsibilities
- Proactively monitors students, guests, and visitors for safety.
- Cautions swimmers regarding unsafe practices and safety hazards, ensuring they follow pool rules and regulations.
- Provides general information on pool operations to students, guests, and visitors.
- Informs and adheres to pool rules and regulations.
- Maintains a high level of customer service to all patrons.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Reacts calmly, efficiently, and effectively in emergency situations.
- Knowledge of lifesaving methods and procedures, including first aid, emergency medical procedures, and standard resuscitation measures.
- Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and business ethic codes.
Requirements
- American Red Cross Lifeguarding and First Aid certification.
- American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification.
- 1+ year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
- Strong guest service skills and interactions.
- Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
- Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
- Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
- Skilled in swimming.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced organization.
- A superior work ethic.
- Desire to work collaboratively with colleagues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
