As a Lifeguard at US Fitness, your primary responsibility is to ensure a safe and enjoyable pool experience for all members, guests, and prospects. You will be tasked with enforcing pool guidelines and adhering to all policies and procedures to maintain a secure environment. This role requires vigilance and a proactive approach to safeguarding the pool area, ensuring that all safety regulations are followed in a professional manner. You will be expected to deliver the ultimate fitness experience to every member, every time, which includes maintaining a clean and safe environment around the pool and being aware of the pool and surrounding area at all times. In this position, you will greet all members, guests, and visitors as they enter the pool area, providing a welcoming atmosphere. You will also be responsible for rescuing patrons when necessary and performing appropriate follow-up procedures, including the proper use of first aid equipment. Testing water quality in the pools, adjusting chemicals as needed, and maintaining records will be part of your daily tasks. Additionally, you will maintain the pool, pool deck, area, and pump room, assist in equipment maintenance, and promptly report any breakdowns or other issues. You will address all questions or comments from members and guests, making referrals as needed, and enforce the aquatics schedule in a professional manner. Conducting patron and/or youth swimming tests to assess their ability to swim independently is also part of your responsibilities. Completing all necessary paperwork, attending required meetings and trainings, and understanding and following employee standards of conduct and ethics are essential to your role. You will also need to understand and uphold club building, facilities, service, program, and emergency procedures, complete all in-house staff training as assigned, and assume other duties as assigned. Flexibility in working hours is necessary, as you may be required to work early morning, evening, and weekend shifts.
