About the position

The Lifeguard position at MICDS is a part-time role focused on ensuring the safety of all patrons in the pool area while maintaining water safety standards. The lifeguard will be responsible for enforcing pool rules, providing emergency care, and performing maintenance duties to keep the facility clean and safe. This role requires a commitment to customer service and participation in training sessions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of all patrons in the pool area.
• Enforce all pool rules and regulations.
• Provide emergency care and treatment until emergency medical services arrive.
• Perform basic water chemical tests and maintenance duties as directed.
• Maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times.
• Attend and participate in in-service training sessions.

Requirements

• At least six months of experience related to lifeguarding duties.
• American Red Cross Lifeguard Training certification, including CPR for the Professional Rescuer with AED and First Aid.
• Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
• Skill in lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques.
• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergencies.
• Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
• Ability to prepare routine paperwork.
• Knowledge of CPR and emergency medical procedures.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
