About the position

The Lifespring Attendant at Cross Keys Village is a full-time caregiver role focused on providing comprehensive care and support to participants in a memory care day program. This position emphasizes engaging the mind, body, and spirit of individuals living with dementia through a variety of stimulating activities and personal care. The role requires a compassionate approach to enhance the quality of life for participants while ensuring their safety and well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Displaying enthusiasm and willingness to work with a variety of people.
  • Utilizing good listening skills to stimulate participants' conversations.
  • Providing physical and emotional support to participants.
  • Observing and reporting changes in participants' physical and emotional status.
  • Directing group activities and motivating participants as directed by the Lifespring Day Services Manager.
  • Facilitating concurrent activities and assisting with community outings.
  • Serving meals and snacks while promoting a dignified dining experience.
  • Assisting participants with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
  • Monitoring participants' food intake and dispensing nutritional supplements as ordered.
  • Regularly interacting with family members to provide updates and resolve concerns.
  • Maintaining an orderly environment through light housekeeping.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Three to five years of work-related experience providing direct care to older adults is required.
  • Current enrollment in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry is strongly preferred.
  • CPR/FA/AED certification is required.
  • Successful completion of the medication administration and diabetic training course is required.
  • Must be Serv-Safe certified or willing to obtain within 3 months of hire.
