About the position

The Lift Maintenance Electrician is a full-time, year-round role responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of ski lift electrical systems. This position requires proficiency in both mechanical and electrical systems, the ability to train and guide junior staff, and a strong focus on safety and compliance with operational standards. The electrician will perform inspections, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the operational readiness of lifts while maintaining clear communication with team members and management.

Responsibilities

  • Safely inspect and prepare lifts for operational use.
  • Perform weekly and monthly lift inspections and advanced preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Utilize knowledge of electric motors to troubleshoot and maintain DC and AC motors.
  • Collect and analyze data on electric motor maintenance and PLC health.
  • Forecast end-of-life or health of machinery and electronics.
  • Manage inventory and purchasing, including researching components and new technology.
  • Plan and manage projects, including task delegation and budgeting.
  • Program PLCs and understand ladder logic.
  • Develop and follow written procedures for maintenance tasks.
  • Troubleshoot advanced mechanical and electrical component discrepancies or failures.
  • Document repairs, labor, and materials on work orders and maintain clear records.
  • Provide thorough documentation for technical reference and legal purposes.
  • Specialize in specific lift maintenance skills such as schematic upgrades and battery maintenance.
  • Fabricate, modify, and install components as needed.
  • Assist in the training and development of Lift Maintenance personnel.

Requirements

  • Proficient in mechanical and electrical systems and principles.
  • Experience with low voltage control systems and PLC troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a safe manner.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with a team or independently.
  • Physical ability to lift and carry items over 50 lbs and work at heights exceeding 20 feet.
  • Basic proficiency with electrical hand and power tools.
  • Experience with safe operation of various vehicles and equipment.

Nice-to-haves

  • LME, PJ, or other NFPA Electrical Certifications.
  • Oregon Driver's License.
  • Climbing certification.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
