About the position

The Lift Maintenance Technician at Anakeesta is responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of the Anakeesta Lift System. This role requires a combination of technical skills, teamwork, and a commitment to safety and compliance with industry regulations. The technician will work independently and collaboratively to ensure the lift systems are operational and safe for guests and employees, while also contributing to the overall operations of the theme park.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain lift files and ensure cleanliness of ride stations, motor rooms, tools, equipment, and shop areas.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical problems related to the lift.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on aerial lifts and other assigned equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with Poma and ANSI rules and regulations.
  • Conduct training and ensure adherence to lift department policies and timely completion of paperwork and procedures.
  • Develop, communicate, and execute summer and winter maintenance programs, including inspections for ride safety and reliability.
  • Prepare daily reports of system operations and log all activities in a daily task/safety log.
  • Conduct daily safety procedures, weather assessments, and maintenance before providing operational clearance to management.
  • Comply with ANSI, Forest Service regulations, and OSHA regulations.
  • Train assigned personnel on proper maintenance of equipment and use of tools.
  • Complete work orders in the digital management system, HIPPO.

Requirements

  • Experience in cable lifts, ski lifts, coasters, or similar equipment preferred.
  • Mechanic experience with heavy equipment, engines, and parts.
  • Electrical background preferred.
  • Experience in detailed work orders, documentation, and inventory management.
  • Working knowledge of welding, fabricating, rigging, fall protection, and inspection processes.
  • Proficient with computer programs, including Microsoft Excel and work order management systems.
  • Ability to diagnose problems, plan repairs, and report major issues to leadership.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
  • Must be able to operate an ATV, UTV, and other vehicles.

Nice-to-haves

  • PLC and HMI experience preferred.
  • Rigging experience is preferred.
