About the position

The System Design Integration (SDI) Engineer at Rolls-Royce is responsible for leading interdisciplinary teams to solve complex problems and deliver system solutions for the LiftSystem program. This role involves defining requirements, designing and integrating products and systems, performing technical analysis, and verifying products throughout their lifecycle. The successful candidate will contribute to the ongoing Block 5 redesign and support current production and design improvement projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and influence interdisciplinary teams to deliver system solutions for the LiftSystem.
  • Coordinate activities across stakeholders to manage interdependencies between subsystems.
  • Conduct whole engine analyses including Structural System Design, Thermofluids, Controls & Monitoring, and Integration.
  • Represent the propulsion systems function to customers and provide technical support throughout product development phases.
  • Progress systems through gated reviews and support risk assessments, flight clearance reviews, and product certification.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 2+ years of related experience or a Master's degree in Engineering.
  • US Citizenship or permanent residency.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with analytical and modelling software such as ANSYS, JMP, NX, and Teamcenter.
  • Programming skills in Visual Basic, Matlab, Python, PERL, C++.
  • Experience with Control system hardware or Performance methods/tools.
  • Strong analytical ability to address engineering problems and determine root causes.
  • Interpersonal skills for effective teamwork and initiative.
