About the position
The Lift Truck Operator III position at Mohawk Industries involves operating powered industrial trucks to move materials within the manufacturing environment. The role is essential for ensuring efficient material flow between loading, processing, and storage areas, contributing to the overall production process.
Responsibilities
- Operate powered industrial trucks equipped with forklift and/or elevated platform to move materials.
- Operate gasoline- or electric-powered trucks to transport materials between loading, processing, and storage areas.
- Operate lifting devices, such as forklifts, lift beams, and swivel-hooks, hoists, and elevating platforms, to load, unload, transport, and stack material.
- Move pallets, skids, boxes, and paper roll stock, and secure material or products for transport to designated areas.
- Unload and load raw materials from flatbed and van trailers.
- Dump, spray, or release materials into hoppers.
- Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and auxiliary equipment.
- Complete daily Vehicle Condition Report.
- Manually load or unload materials onto or off pallets, skids, platforms, cars, conveyors, or lifting devices.
- Operate or tend automatic stacking, loading, packaging, or cutting machines.
- Weigh materials or products and record weight and other production data as required.
- Operate and follow instructions as directed by an onboard RF unit.
- Record quality and output measures and complete any other necessary paperwork.
- Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision.
- Follow all established standard operating procedures.
- Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary.
- Perform other tasks assigned by management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalency required.
- Prior forklift experience required.
- Prior experience in a production or manufacturing environment preferred.
Nice-to-haves
- Good communication skills to effectively interact with others in the immediate work unit and in related support areas.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.
