The Light Microscope (LM) Field Service Engineer position is an entry- to mid-level role that requires a strong foundation in electronics and mechanics. This position is crucial for providing technical service and support to our customers. A significant portion of the role involves participating in technical training courses, both domestically and internationally, to ensure that the engineer is well-equipped to handle the complexities of the equipment. The role demands a commitment to learning and the ability to absorb training material quickly, as well as a basic understanding of application principles. In this customer-facing role, the Field Service Engineer will work closely with higher-level engineers and engage in on-the-job training. Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication are essential for success in this position. The engineer will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing microscopy equipment, maintaining systems to meet uptime performance, and cultivating positive relationships with customers. The role also involves travel to customer sites, often on short notice, to resolve issues or support other field service personnel. As the engineer gains experience, they will be assigned more complex tasks and service orders to complete independently.
