About the position

The Orem Public Library is seeking a part-time Light/Sound Technician for its Library Hall performance venue. This role involves setting up and taking down equipment for concerts and events, programming lighting and sound plots, and operating and maintaining control systems for live performances. The technician will also handle some hosting and stage management duties, addressing patron and client concerns as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Set up and take down equipment for concerts and events at Library Hall.
• Program lighting and sound plots for live performances.
• Operate and maintain lighting and sound control systems.
• Perform hosting and stage management duties as needed.
• Address patron and client concerns appropriately.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of prior experience with sound and lighting in a performance environment.
• Knowledge of lighting and sound production and live events.
• Familiarity with microphone types and setup, analog and digital mixing equipment.
• Ability to set EQ and independent mixes for stage monitors and house.
• Experience with light console operation and lighting design.
• Knowledge of power distribution management and rigging.
• Ability to solve technical problems in stressful situations.
• Ability to work collaboratively with team members and clients.
• Knowledge of ETC equipment and EOS system preferred.
• Must be able to lift and move heavy equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
